Trace Dependents in Google Sheets
ProWindows
Ctrl+Shift+]
Mac
⌘+Shift+]
Before you change or delete a cell, you need to know what breaks downstream. Excel’s Trace Dependents answers that. Google Sheets gives you no way to ask the question.
With XLKeys, select any cell and press Ctrl + Shift + ] — every formula that references it is highlighted instantly, so you can edit with confidence instead of crossing your fingers.

Google Sheets cannot show you which formulas depend on a cell — there is no native auditing tool.
How to use it
- Select the cell you’re about to change.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + ] (⌘ + Shift + ] on Mac).
- Every formula that depends on the cell is highlighted.
- Use Alt → G → B to jump back to your starting cell.
