Is There a Macabacus Add-On for Google Sheets?

Short answer: no, but there are some pretty close alternatives.

I work in google sheets and stuff. Built XLkeys to make my job easier. You should try it, its free.

Macabacus was one of the best Excel plug-ins, used by thousands across industries but mainly finance professionals and other Excel power users. It gives you the ability in Excel to have really fast shortcuts, trace precedents, auto-color, and more. It’s also pretty expensive with their paid plan.

Macabacus themselves do not have an option for Google Sheets, which is a shame. But luckily there are some pretty crafty people out there that have made their own version. I made XLKeys to replicate this functionality and it works quite well.

What XLKeys Does Similar to Macabacus

  • Alt+H,H for fill color and Alt+H,F,C for font color.
  • Alt+H,B,A for all borders and other border shortcuts for model formatting.
  • Alt+H,O,I for autofit column width and Alt+H,O,A for autofit row height.
  • Ctrl+Shift+[ and Ctrl+Shift+] for Trace Precedents and Trace Dependents.
  • Ctrl+Shift+S for Auto-Color, which classifies hardcodes, formulas, same-sheet refs, and cross-sheet refs.
  • Alt+A,W,G for Goal Seek and Alt+A,W,T for Sensitivity Tables.
  • Alt+E,S,V and related shortcuts for paste special workflows.
  • And much more.
